Who is responsible
Toon van Liebergen, owner of the Sydney 46 STELLA17, is responsible for stella17.nl and decides what happens with your data. The site is maintained by crew member Joan Blaas. Contact for all privacy questions: joan.blaas@gmail.com.
What the site is
stella17.nl is a private site about the boat's race preparation. It can only be opened by people who have signed in and been approved by an admin. The only personal data the site handles is what is needed to sign you in and to decide who may enter.
What we collect, and why
When you sign in with Google, Google sends the site your name, email address, profile picture link and a Google user ID. We keep this to let you log in and to control access (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: keeping a private site private).
- Firebase Authentication keeps the data above for your sign-in.
- Our database (Firestore, Netherlands) keeps a record per person: email, name, sign-in provider, role (waiting, viewer or admin), when you first and last signed in, and which admin approved you. We do not store your profile picture.
- Admins can see this record to approve or remove people. Nobody else can.
- On your own device only: your light or dark choice and the settings, checklist ticks and test log of the Prep Advisor are saved in your browser. They are not sent to us. Firebase also keeps your sign-in session in your browser. We set no tracking cookies.
There is no analytics, no advertising and no profiling. We do not sell or share your data. Other sign-in options (Microsoft, Apple) may be added later; they send the same kind of data, and this page will be updated first.
Who processes data for us
Google (Firebase Hosting, Authentication and Firestore) processes the data on our behalf. Google may process some data, such as sign-in and server logs with IP addresses, outside the EU under its standard safeguards. See Firebase privacy. There are no other processors.
How long we keep it
Your record is kept for 120 months (10 years) after you last signed in, and is then deleted. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time; it is then removed from our database and from Firebase Authentication.
Your rights
You may ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, a copy, or object to its use. Email joan.blaas@gmail.com; we answer within one month. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
